A small, pale yellow to cream-yellow club fungus described from New Zealand and apparently restricted to native forest habitats. It forms scattered to gregarious clusters of slender, unbranched clubs, typically paler and more delicate than the widespread C. helvola group.

Fruitbodies: Slender, cylindrical, unbranched.
Apex: Rounded or slightly tapered; often faintly translucent.
Colour: Cream‑yellow to pale lemon‑yellow; usually much paler than C. helvola. Base whitish.
Surface: Smooth, matte; flesh soft and fragile.
Base: Narrow, sometimes slightly rooting into the substrate.
Size: 20-60 mm tall, 1-2 mm thick.
Growth habit: Usually scattered but may appear in small groups.
