A small red‑brown to mahogany Purpurascentes species of Kunzea scrub, with a viscid to nearly dry cap, often grey‑yellow maculate and finely fibrillose.

Pileus: 25-40 mm, convex; viscid to nearly dry. Colour saturated red‑brown to mahogany or umber, often indistinctly maculated grey‑yellow. Surface innately fibrillose; margin slightly paler with yellow‑grey fibrils, not striate.
Lamellae: Dark grey‑violet, broadly adnexed, moderately crowded (L 40-50, l 1-2).
Stipe: 40-70 x 4-12 mm, cylindrical, silky pale violet with a darker violet coating near the base.
Context: pale violet, marbled darker grey‑violet.
Veil: Violet, sparse; cortina pale violet.
Odour/taste: Odour faint, sweetish; taste faintly farinaceous.
