A small, intensely red‑purple Dermocybe‑lineage species, unmistakable in the field for its dry, velvety crimson to maroon pileus, blood‑red lamellae, and deep red context.

Cap: Up to 25 mm diam., hemispherical to convex to umbonate‑expanded in age. Brilliant red‑purple, blood red, or dark maroon red. Dry, not hygrophanous; velvety to coarsely fibrillose or minutely squamulose. Margin non‑striate; no veil remnants.
Lamellae: 12-15 primary lamellae, with 3 series of lamellulae. Broadly emarginate, subdecurrent with a short tooth. Blood red when young, later concolorous with pileus with orange to rust‑brown tinge. Up to 4 mm wide. Edges distinctly red‑fimbriate.
Stipe: Up to 50 x 3 mm, cylindrical, occasionally with a slightly swollen base. Concolorous with pileus; base often covered with pale ochre fibrils from the veil. Dry, fibrillose; cortina not persistent. Hollow.
Context: Red in pileus and upper stipe; ochre in stipe base.
Odour/taste: Odour not distinctive. Taste slightly raphanoid.
