Calocera species
Description:
Historically known as C. cornea, which does not occur in NZ, regardless of this, it's the name this species is generally called.

Basidiocarps: Small, gelatinous, bright yellow to orange. Simple or sparsely forked; typically unbranched compared with Calocera viscosa. Shape cylindrical, tapering, often slightly flattened. Height usually 5–15 mm, occasionally to 20 mm. Surface smooth, waxy‑gelatinous when moist; becomes rubbery or shrivelled when dry.
Growth Habit: Occurs in dense clusters or scattered tufts. Arises directly from rotting wood, often well‑decayed branches or embedded woody debris. Frequently found after rain; dries to a thin, tough film.
Colour: Bright yellow to orange throughout. Tips often more intensely coloured than the base. Colour fades slightly with age or drying.
