A distinctive dark brown–lilac species with a densely squamulose, strongly striate, hygrophanous cap

Pileus: 15–25 mm across, hemispherical to convex when young, often with a small umbo, later umbonate or plano‑convex. Colour dark brown with a distinct lilac tinge, the lilac tones fading in older fruitbodies. Surface densely squamulose to scaly, strongly striate, hygrophanous, and dry.
Lamellae: (L 10–15, l 3) adnate to emarginate, sometimes with a slight notch; grey to dark beige, becoming brownish‑pink with a lilac tint as spores mature. Gill edge even and concolorous.
Stipe: 15–30 × 2 mm, cylindrical, concolorous with the cap, innately fibrillose, dry, fistulose, and typically solitary.
Context: dark brown, thin and membranous.
Odour/taste: Odour acidulous. Taste not distinctive.
