An off-white to pale pink, fimbriate-gilled species with large cheilocystidia and fusoid pleurocystidia.

Pileus: 10-25 mm, hemispherical at first, then convex to expanded with a depressed or subumbilicate centre. Off‑white, gradually turning pale pink in age, sometimes with a pale grey‑yellowish disc. Strongly translucent‑striate when moist; hygrophanous. Surface innately fibrillose (disc not scurfy), dry.
Lamellae: 12-18 reaching stipe, with 3-5 lamellulae, broadly adnate to subemarginate, often with a short decurrent tooth. Concolorous with pileus; edges conspicuously fimbriate and concolorous.
Stipe: 30-60 x 2-3 mm, cylindrical, equal or slightly swollen at base, white to off‑white, smooth, silky or innately fibrillose. Base with short concolorous bristles or mycelium. Dry, very brittle, hollow; solitary or caespitose.
Context: whitish, waxy, unchanging; latex absent.
Odour/taste: subfarinaceous, unpleasant.
