This fungus is glutinous on both its cap and stripe and is often found in small groups. It is separated from the other two yellow species by having decurrent gills and no cheilocystidia.

Pileus: 5-15 mm diam., hemispherical or convex, later plano-convex or subumbilicate. Colour egg-yellow to lemon-yellow, fading to yellowish-grey, usually darker at the centre. Surface glutinous; margin thin, membranaceous, and translucidly striate when moist.
Lamellae: arcuate, whitish-yellowish; gill edge concolorous and even, without a gelatinous thread.
Stipe: 10-20 x 1-2 mm, cylindric, equal but often subbulbous at the base; apex whitish, base yellow. Entire stipe glutinous; solid; single or in small clusters.
Context: yellow.
Odour/tast: not distinctive.
