Pileus: 5-20 mm, convex when young, soon becoming flat and then concave with an upturned margin; deep red‑orange at disc, paler or yellow toward the estriate margin; dry, hygrophanous, minutely felty.
Lamellae: decurrent, yellowish, with no red coloration; edge concolorous.
Stipe: 20-50 x 2-4 mm, cylindric, equal; yellow like the lamellae, orange/red colours absent; dry, glabrous, hollow; single or fasciculate.
Context: yellowish.
Odour/tast: Odor and taste unpleasant.
